National Centre for Sustainable Development (NCSD)

BSUF took the initiative to set up a National Centre for Sustainable Development (NCSD), co-ordinated by Dr. Calin Georgescu. With support from UNDP for the project, the first National Strategy for Sustainable Development was elaborated, involving more than 200 government officials, politicians, business and trade union leaders, academics and representatives of the civil society. The Romanian Government officially adopted the Strategy, with just a few amendments.

Initially, NCSD operated as a research centre within the BSUF. It currently functions as an autonomous institution.
