GLOBAL
AND REGIONAL PARTNERS
Since its
establishment, BSUF was endorsed by some organizations from the UN family,
mentioned in the list of patronning institutions: UNESCO, UNITAR,
UNU, CEPES/UNESCO. In 1999, BSUF was granted a Special Consultative
Status with ECOSOC/UN as a regional non-governmental organization.
Thus, BSUF designated permanent representatives in New York, Geneva and
Vienna, who expressed the opinions of the organization in the debates
on topics related to its activity. BSUF had a stimulating cooperation
with the UN Development Programme, which also provided the most substantial
support to the development of several programs. The relationship with
the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and with the Parliamentary
Assembly of BSEC (PABSEC) made the subject of some specific resolutions.
Relevant
for the functionning of BSUF are the cooperation relationships established
with non-governmental and academic bodies as: The Club of Rome, World
Academy of Art and Science, World Federation of Future Studies, and Futuribles
International. In cooperation with these bodies BSUF organized meetings,
symposiums and courses hosted on the Black Sea shore.
